Mercedes-Benz officially introduced the new E-Class Estate

The company Mercedes-Benz has officially introduced the next, the sixth generation of the universal from the line E-Class.

Compared with its predecessor, the car got smoother lines in the design of the rear of the body - a similar solution was previously used on a five-door modification of the "younger" C-Class.

As a result, the luggage space was reduced to 670 liters (-25 liters) in standard condition, but even in this case, Mercedes bypassed its competitors in the face Audi A6 Avant (565 liters) and BMW 5-Series (560 liters).

With the rear seats folded, the trunk of the E-Class has increased - it boasts an impressive 1820 liters of volume (+135 liters). The loading width between the wheel arches is 1100 mm. In addition, the car will have an optional third row of children's seats.

The car is equipped with an electromechanical system for opening the fifth door (it is enough to hold a foot under the bumper) and by default is equipped with a pneumatic rear suspension, which always aligns the rear of the car, regardless of the amount of cargo carried (up to 745 kg for different versions). The maximum weight of a towed trailer is 2100 kg.

At the time of the model's launch, three diesel engines will be offered in Europe: E200d (148 hp), E220d (191 hp) and E350d (255 hp). The line of petrol engines consists of four modifications: E200 (181 hp), E250 (208 hp), E400 (328 hp) and E43 AMG 4Matic (396 hp). By default, all listed versions are equipped with a nine-step "automatic" 9G-Tronic.
