The key parameters of the Mercedes-AMG GT R coupe (585 hp, 700 N • m, 0-100 km / h in 3.6 seconds, 318 km / h) became known even before the premiere in Goodwood. But behind the scenes, many details remained. The car was not just more powerful than the Mercedes-AMG GT S (510 hp, 650 N • m). Engineers took a number of measures to make the two-door more dynamic and more interesting in management. In particular, in comparison with the S-variant, the weight is reduced by 15 kg (up to 1630, with the driver and fuel).
The coupe is painted in a new color AMG Green Hell Magno. The radiator grille repeats the design of the racing AMG GT3, the winner of the "24 Hours of the Nürburgring 2016". And it also refers to the historical model of Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, which won the road race Panamericana in 1952.
The reconfiguration of Biturbovosmyorki 4.0 was not a success. New turbochargers with a modified compressor part and a control valve have appeared, the boost pressure has been raised from 1.2 to 1.35 bar, the compression ratio has been changed, the exhaust channels have been optimized, in addition the flywheel here is 0.7 kg lighter than the standard one, and the charge air cooling system has been strengthened. Gear ratios in the seven-stage "robot" have been adjusted, and the Race Start mode allows you to start at a higher speed than the "esque".
It seems that a large hexagonal exhaust pipe, located in the center, is the only one. But in fact there are three of them: another pair is invisibly integrated into the diffuser on the right and left. Between the lanterns a slot is added to drain hot air from the muffler.
The rear wing is manually adjusted to one or another track. At high speed, along with other elements, it can generate a clamping force of 155 kg more than the GT S coupe.
In the interior of the GT R version, AMG sport buckets with manual adjustment are installed (AMG Performance chairs are a free option). The interior is finished with nappa and microfiber. As an option, you can order yellow safety belts and yellow accents in the device. In the basic equipment is included package Night package with glossy black elements of decor. For a surcharge, the company will supply carbon fiber reinforced plastic with a matte black surface.
